No matter, it still got a perfect ending to the game.
All backup Tyler Will did was direct the Purple Hurricanes' powerful ground attack – while mixing in enough passes to keep Ringgold's defense honest – enabling Cartersville to claim a 28-7 victory.
Will scored one of the touchdowns himself and two other scores came from the ground attack. The opportunistic Cane defense got into the act as well, shaking loose several runners from the ball, halting drives and claiming the night's scoring run run – an 81-yard beauty by defensive back Ricky Beachum that came after another Cane had parted a Ringgold runner from his ball.
In other local action, Adairsville continued its winning ways with a 49-28 pasting of East Hall, Cass lost a close one on the road to Sequoyah, 31-28, and Woodland's thrilling comeback attempt fell just short to Johns Creek, 55-44.
