A Tulsa, Okla., man was killed in a one-car crash Wednesday on U.S. Highway 411/Ga. Highway 61 at Industrial Drive, according to a White Police Department news release.

Chief David King said Chadwick L. Bryant, 32, who had been living with his mother in Fairmount, was traveling southbound, crossed the double-yellow line and overcorrected. Around 7:10 a.m., police were notified Bryant's vehicle had traveled into the woods and struck a pine tree.

King said Bryant was dead on the scene and alcohol may have been involved in the crash.

Man reports robbery following card game

Three men robbed a 73-year-old Florida man following a card game in which the trio told him he could win money, according to the Bartow County Sheriff's Office incident report.

The victim called police around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday from Travel Centers of America at 981 Cass-White Road in Cartersville, and said one of the men approached him and said another man was giving away $100 in a card game.

After he tried to win the money, one of the men said he would double any amount of money, and the alleged victim pulled out his vacation money, $2,000, and handed it to one of the trio.

Two of the men held the victim while the third walked away with the cash. When the first suspect was out of sight, the other two left quickly.
