Colts blank Packers in rec play

The Colts showed some offensive muscle and a stout defense in defeating the Packers, 24-0, in Bartow County Recreation Department 8-and-under football play on Monday.

Devante Ross rushed for 199 yards and three touchdowns for the Colts while Bailey Jacobs was the leading ground gainer for the Packers, with 37 yards.

10-and-under

The Falcons took an easy win over the Steelers, 27-6, in 10-and-under play.

Chance Hatcher ran for 65 yards and one touchdown to lead the Falcons offensively. Key defensive plays were made by MacLand Shay, who returned an interception 34 yards to score, and Drew Davis, who found the end zone after making an interception from 55 yards away.

Justice Carter tallied 95 yards and one touchdown for the Steelers.

Colts 26, Jets 18

The Colts slipped by the Jets, 26-18, also in 10-and-under play.

Carrying the load for the Colts were Ethan Carter, who rushed for 201 yards with one touchdown, and Reed Findley, who accounted for two touchdowns.

For the Jets, Trevon Branch ran for 154 yards and two touchdowns while Josh Reed rushed for 119 yards.

Bears 16, Packers 8

Also, the Bears doubled up on the Packers with a 16-8 victory.

Paving the way for the Bears' victory were Titus Jones, 110 yards with two touchdowns, and Dakota Hughes, who kicked two PATs.

Cody Henderson crossed 39 yards of real estate, scored one touchdown and kicked one PAT for the Packers.

Soccer results

In under-8 boys soccer, the Wildcats defeated the Wolfpack, 4-2, and the Eagles tied the Bulldogs, 4-4.

Also, in under-12 girls soccer, the Crimson Tide took a 3-0 victory over the Eagles.
