Rhonda Gail Sims Crunkelton, 52, of Centre, Ala., formerly of Cartersville, passed away at her home on Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2010, after a lengthy illness. A loved and loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend, she fought numerous health issues bravely over the past year.

Born on July 23, 1958, in Boaz, Ala., to the late Travis and Eddene Sims, she loved living life to the fullest. Her children and grandchildren were the center of her world.

Preceded by her in death are her parents, Travis and Eddene Sims; her brother, Stavey; and her very special friend, Timmy James.

Survivors include her children, Sheila, Michael and Stacy Crunkelton and their father Doyle "Bud" Crunkelton of Centre; her sister, Sandra Sims of Cartersville; grandchildren Cody, Travis, Hailey Crunkelton of Cedartown and Caden Crunkelton of Centre; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins spread across the Southeast.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, Oct. 8, from 5 to 9 p.m. at Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home in Cedartown. There will be a tribute service to Rhonda on Saturday, Oct. 9, at 2 p.m. in the chapel followed by burial at Live Oak Cemetery in Aragon.

Serving as pallbearers will be Cody Crunkelton, James Crunkelton, Steve Crunkelton, Shane Hann, Tommy Skiles and Michael Bray, honorary pallbearer will be Travis Crunkelton.
