Dr. Gilmer was born April 29, 1958, in Floyd County, the son of Betty Jo Tedder Gilmer and the late Ralph O. Gilmer, he served Cartersville and Bartow County for over 30 years as a dentist at Family Dental Associates and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his children, Taylor Britt Gilmer of Atlanta, Annelise Grace Gilmer of Cartersville; his mother, Betty Jo Gilmer of Cartersville; two brothers, Terry Ralph Gilmer of Cartersville, Bryan Thomas Gilmer of Rydal; and a niece, Brandi Unrein and her husband, Brian, of Marietta.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 12, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Rev. John Agnew officiating.
A private family graveside service will be held at a later time.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 6:30 to 9 p.m.
