“They forced their way through a door, broke a window to an office,” Bartow County School Resource Officer Chief Dan Knowles said. “They went into the main office just looking for money. They did get a laptop and just went through every drawer looking for anything.
“I would say it’s more than one [person] based on how much they were able to do in that short of a period of time,” Knowles said, adding a burglar alarm sounded. “By the time we got folks there, they were already gone. They were pretty quick so I think it’s more than one.”
Students’ routines were minimally affected by the incident. Knowles said the only change was students were served breakfast in their homerooms to allow staff to clean up the lunchroom and kitchen, in which a window was broken.
