Mrs. Edith Roberson, 93, of 1196 Kingston Road, Highway 293, Kingston, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2010, at Cartersville Medical Center.

She was born in Cobb County, Aug. 23, 1917, daughter of the late Pressley and Bessie Dover Hames. She had attended Kingston Holiness Church and Full Gospel Church at Kingston and had worked for Goodyear Mills, Cartersville, and Calmor, Adairsville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Lester Landrum Roberson and a son, John Lester Roberson.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, George and Wanda Roberson of Rome and Bennit and Lois Roberson of Kingston; three daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Elizabeth Miller of Catersville, Martha R. Hubbard of Kingston, and Patricia and Jerry Strickland of Kingston; three sisters, Janie and Ernest Miller, Frances and Perry Chapman, and Annie Ledbetter; three brothers, Carey and May Lou Hames, Horace and Mildred Hames, and William "Ebbie" and Mozelle Hames; 14 grandchildren, Michael George and Donna Roberson, Lisa and Larry Pitts, Peggy M. Wilson, Terry and Kim Miller, Debbie and John Hawkins, Joe and the late Tina Landers, Gina and Steve Johnson, J. R. and Jennifer Roberson, Bryan Roberson, Lannette and Terry Layton, Dawn and Richard Thomas, Sondra and Donnie Brownfield, Cynthia and Preston Hill, and Victoria and Cliff Warner; 36 great-grandchildren; 25 great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandchild; nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 15, 2010, at 4 p.m. from Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville with Rev. C. E. Wilkey and Rev. Jesse Parker officiating. Interment will follow in Kingston Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Bryan Roberson, Terry Layton, Terry Miller, Michael Shade Roberson, Greg Roberson, Preston Hill, and Cory Layton. Honorary pallbearers will include Donnie Brownfield, Michael Roberson, John Hawkins, Ronnie Miller, Calvin Miller, and J. R. Roberson.

The family received friends Thursday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Barton Funeral Home.
