Bonnie Hightower-Martin, 91, of Mill Creek Drive, Cartersville, died Sunday, Oct. 17, 2010.

Mrs. Martin was born March 28, 1919, in Bartow County, the daughter of the late Joe C. and Hattie Freeman Rogers. She was retired from Cartersville Undergarment, was a Red Cross Volunteer at Cartersville Medical Center and a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Kingston.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Buren Hightower; her second husband, Carl Martin; a daughter, Barbara Jackson; granddaughter, Laura Jackson; brothers, Clifford Rogers, Hugh Rogers, James Rogers and Charles Rogers; and sisters, Beulah Freeman, Mary Massey and Lelia Cline.

Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and Kirk Heard of Acworth, Joan Clayton of Cartersville, Sandra and Ronnie Harris of Cartersville; grandchildren, Mary Ann Craddock, Monica Brown and David Harris; great-grandchildren, Nathan and Alex Brown, Camryn and Haylee Harris; a sister, Margie Baxter of Acworth; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 20, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Patterson officiating.

Burial will follow in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery in Kingston.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Rayden Rogers, Donald Massey, James Rogers, Ronnie and Wayne Cline, and Mike Craddock.
